Illinios Tool Works Inc. (ITW) was founded in Chicago in 1912 by four men who answered a financial ad to set up a business to manufacture and sell metal cutting tools. The company has grown steadily and today encompasses approximately 600 ITW operating units in 40 countries with more than 55000 employees.

ITW's Industrial Systems and Consumables division has enjoyed considerable growth with the purchase of Ransburg-Gema in 1989, the DeVilbiss Company and Volsatic Inc in 1990 and the acquisition of Binks in 1999.

These companies together with BGK, Evercoat and Hosco have been combined as the ITW Finishing Systems and Products Group, a worldwide operation with business units serving the Global industrial finishing market.

Today, ITW's Finishing Systems businesses are leaders in solutions for a wide range of industrial curing applications and material handling needs, as well as conventional and electrostatic, liquid and powder application products.
